HopeNet of Carpinteria sponsored a Candlelight Vigil in recognition of World Suicide Prevention Day on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 from 7- 8 pm at Linden Field (at the foot of Linden Avenue near the seal statue) in Carpinteria.

This was in honor and memory of those who have committed suicide, survivors, and to increase sensitivity about suicide and its prevention. The general public was invited.

There were speakers, local elected officials, music by local teen Jamey Geston, refreshments, and an information table. Some attendees chose to bring a poem or a remembrance of a loved one to share.
