Our Mission
HopeNet of Carpinteria is a grassroots, volunteer-driven nonprofit dedicated to promoting mental wellness and preventing suicide in our community. Founded in 2012 after the tragic loss of a local friend, our mission began with a simple but powerful act, creating and distributing wallet-sized suicide prevention cards in English and Spanish.
Since then, we’ve expanded our efforts through outreach, education, and collaboration. We work alongside local agencies, schools, service groups, and mental health professionals to raise awareness, share resources, and connect people with the help they need. Our initiatives include public events, presentations, and our annual candlelight vigil.
At HopeNet, we believe that mental health is a community responsibility. Every conversation, every shared resource, and every moment of compassion can make a difference. Our vision is to improve mental wellness for all Carpinteria residents and reduce the number of attempted and completed suicides through advocacy, education, and connection.
Together, we can create a culture where help is accessible, hope is visible, and no one feels alone.
Our Team.
